Today in the discussion on Self-Awareness and Self-Esteem, i understands that self awareness is very important as it will affect our development throughout the years in our lives. We have to understand our own ability so as to be able to do things that we really can. If not, we will just continue to do the wrong things.

I should be who I am and how I want to be. Not to follow others and create an image which does not even suits myself at all. Being open-minded and able to take advices are also important. We must not be so self-centered. Taking in others comments are actually helping oneself to improve. Be confident in whatever we do so we will not be affected by negative impacts and affect our emotions.

Self-esteem is actually a rating of how confident you are in life. With low self-esteem, others will easily take advantage of my weakness and outshine me. We must truly understand ourselves in order to have a high self-esteem. But the first important mindset that I should have is not to look down on myself. If we have a high self-esteem and we failed in anything, we will not blame ourselves as we knows that we had already tried our very best.

I am quite particular on how others look on me. For example my dressing, my attitude and the way i present myself. I get quite worried when my friends comment on how inappropriate my apparels are. After thinking through, I decided that i should not follow what they want me to be. If I am fine with my dressing and I like it, i should not even care about what they say. Yes I know we should take in comments lightly. So i would reflect on myself and think of possible ways to improve. I must be proud of who I am. If i were to follow what they want, then I would be like a copycat. I must be the unique one.

5 years later, I hope people will still remember me as that ELMO lover and the cheerful girl :) and someone who loves to sing a lot. I am still quite shy whenever I am asked to sing to a crowd of people whom I am not familiar with. I wish that 5 years later I can be more confident. I think I am very dependent on others. Especially to my boyfriend. I wish I could be more independent so that he will not worry so much about me. Maybe I should start to do things on myself without the help of others. However I am afraid that I will turn back to them when I fail. Thats my weakness i guess. In 5 years time, I hope i can train up my vocal skills and be able to to work in the singing industry. Singing is my passion since young. I want to pursue my passion. Maybe money is an important factor? I want to work hard for studies first then perhaps work for the expenses for me to pursue it.
